And you DON’T have to be fit or flexible.



I invite you to embark on this 6-week transformation journey, starting with a genuine desire for restful and quality sleep and a willingness to learn and practice regularly (be prepared for homework).

To participate in this program, you will need an electronic device (desktop computer, laptop, or tablet) and access to Zoom. Please remember that you are responsible for ensuring a reliable internet connection and all necessary technology to connect to the Studio 71 Yoga offering at the scheduled date(s) and time(s).

It is essential to have a quiet space that allows you to move around safely during your yoga practice (please take a look at the Disclaimer). You will need a yoga mat (or a firm, carpeted surface), blankets, bolsters or cushions, and a yoga block (for more information on yoga props, click here).

Sleep sequence has been a life saver. I wake up less often and when I am awake I practice breathing and meditation. I also don’t get upset anymore if I can’t sleep. The sleep sequence has worked for me.

I enjoy working with this teacher as Jeannine is non judgemental and it is easy to express one’s feelings, opinions and shortcomings to her. The participants were very open with their problems and that helped me view my own problems in a realistic way. We were there to work on those problems and try to solve them! And I think we did find a lot of answers, each in our way. It seems to me I sleep more deeply. The yoga workout in the evening helps me to relax physically. I have also changed a few things like supper time and my diet (the quantity of food, the alcohol intake) that help the sleeping process. Keeping track of what I ingested was a good idea. The sleep diary helped to dedramatize the lack of sleep.
I wake up feeling more rested and I am therefore less tired during the day. I still wake up many times during the night but I seem to fall back to sleep more easily, maybe because I don’t feel as frustrated about it as I was before I took the course. I feel less often tired, more energetic and optimistic during the day. I don’t always have the opportunity to use the restorative poses as sleepiness will creep up on me when I’m driving or with a child reading a story for example. But when it happens at home, putting my feet up seems to work. The course happened in a challenging period for me and I am usually slow to make changes in my life, but I understood I had to act immediately if I wanted the course to be beneficial, and it was.

Things were layed out in a chronological order. Jeannine was very knowledgeable about the subject. She led the group in discussions, gave out homework each week, and followed up. She was also available for any questions or concerns in a positive manner. Not getting enough sleep is a serious thing that can affect our minds and bodies. Once you have done this course, you can see the results of having a great nights sleep, and the positive effect of interacting with others during the day. A sense of calm, in being able to let go of things, that would normally have bothered you or others. This course actually helped my relationship with my husband. It was an awesome experience to fall asleep at night, after reading for 10 or 15 minutes, instead of 1-2 hours. If I did wake up in the night, I was able to fall right back to sleep.
